I came to USA on H1 in July 2001. I left my previous employer last Aug 2006. I had approved I-140 with them. Based on the approved 140, my current employer filed for H1 transfer and got me 3 year extension. So my current H1 is valid until Oct 2009. With my current company I have just started my perm process. I would file for Perm some time last week of September 2007.
Current company is going to have huge job cuts and I may be affected by it.
So my question is, if I get laid off will be able to move to another company.
I have the approved 1-140 form from my prevous company and it has not been cancelled by that company.
Can any one please me if I can move to another company or not? if yes, are there any issues that I should be aware of. Has anyone gone through this issue before. Thanks alot for the help and time,
