H1 to L1

Hi, I am currently outside US (in India) and have a valid H1. However, my company has also applied for an L-1. Now they need me to come to US for some urgent work. Can I go to US on H-1 and then get it transferred to L1 when it comes thru?

Any help will be highly appreciated.
