H1 to H4

Hi, I have a question. I am holding a vaild H1 and can I marry to another person holding H1 from US itself. Both are Indian citizens, can any of us get an H4 after the marriage from US itself than going and filing it in India.

I appreciate your help for the answers.
 
H1 to H4 is a change of status. If your current H1 and your spouse's H1 are both valid and never out of status (and with reputable employers), you should be able to change status. Proof of marriage is required. If you get married in US you should also get it registered in the county where you reside.
 
Thanks nkm-oct23 for the reply. So the marriage should be conducted by going to any Indian consulate or which all offices can make it legal?
And through our employer we can file H4 right?
 
H4 Change of Status is not filed by employer, it is filed by the individual seeking H4.

Contact you local county office to find out how to get a marriage registered. Indian consulate doesn't have to get involved.
