I have MS in BME from US (2007). Currently I am working as a research engg for a non-profit institute on H1 (valid till 2010). I am planning to go back to univ and get my PhD. I have partial scholarship from the college. However, the new quarter starts in Sep '08. If I apply for COS in US it takes 2-4 months. To be eligible for scholarship I have to be on F1 before I start my classes. Can I goto US consulate in INDIA/MEXICO/CANADA with the addmission letter, I-20 and other required documents for F1 stamping. However, If for some reason my F1 gets rejected can I enter US on my H1 which is still valid as I plan to resign from the job only if I get F1 stamped. !!!!!!!!ANY INPUTS PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!
