H1 to F1 conversion and effect on 6 year period

Hello,
I am working now and hold H1B visa of which about 2.5 years is left before 6 years would be over.
I was thinking of going to school full time and change status to F1.
If I do that and after 2 years of school get a job and H1 sponsorship, would I get a fresh period of 6 years? Or would the time remaining on H1 when I converted to F1 would apply to my h1 visa after finishing school?

Six years is total. So after you graduate you will have 2.5 years left on your H1.
