Hi Gurus,
I completed my 6 years of H1 (12/01/2001) and applied for H1 to F1 change of status and got the receipt notice from INS last week. I know that in Texas Service Center it takes approximately 9 months for the H1 to F1 change of status approval. My wife is processing GC (currently waiting for I-140 approval in Texas Service Center) and we are anticipating to apply for I-485 or Consular Processing Interview before 9 months starting from now.
Now my question is:

Do I have to start taking courses from January (Spring) 2002 ? or can I just wait for the approval of my H1 to F1 change of status and take courses after the approval ?? or if my wife\'s I-140 is approved before my F1 status is approved, can I simply apply for I-485 or Consular Processing Interview without taking any courses at all ???.
