H1 Time Frame

Hi All,

I have two questions:

What could be the reason for INS approving my H1 from 25th Jul 2002 to 20th May 2005 and not till 24th July 2005? This is my first H1 from F1 and if I continue with this company then when will my six years of H1 end?

If I go for an H1 transfer then will the new H1 be for 3 years or for the remainig time of first H1 approval.

LCA spproval date.

Most likely your LCA was approved on May 20th 2002..so the lawyer filed for H1 for 3 yrs from that date..hence the INS started counting from that time on.
Your 6 yrs will end after you have completed 6 yrs on H1 status ie July 25 2002 to July 24 2008.
Each time you get an extentsion of status..be it from the same company or a new one..INS will try to issue approval for a max of 3 yrs if you have more than 3 yrs of H1 status yet to go..otherwise they will do it until the max H1 status time avaliable to you.
