I\'ve my brother coming on H-1. And there are certain uncertanities with that for which I\'ll appreciate if anybody could share the knowledge they have:
his Co doesn\'t ahve aproject for hi.So how long will he be in status? When does by law he becomes out of status?
- what are his options to stay in status- either H1 or F1.
Is it advisable to be in status - like tranfer to F1 if he doesn\'t get a job after certain period of time as I know two of my friend when they were laid off continued to look for another job & actually got their H-1 transfer without pay stubs. They produced a ltter from the Co saying that they were employed by the Co. In my brother\'s case too, I think he will be able to get that letter from his Comapny - so what is advisable- taking such a chance or tranfer to F1 status.
