Hi All,
I've MS in Environmental Eng from US university and i'm working as a Chemist currently. I'm in a situation where i need to take a 2-3 month break (visit to India) from work ... though if i tell my employer i'm going on a long leave, i'm not sure if my H1 status remains (as per my knowledge, H1 expires if not on payroll for >2months) good? If it remains good, will i be able to resume work on Part-time basis being on H1?
One more question i have is, i want to change my field and move to Software. As my degree and current H1 is related to Sciences, will it be a problem if i apply for H1 transfer through a consulting company? Is H1 transfer possible in this case or should i go for new H1? Will i qualify for 20,000 masters quota, as i won't be a fresh graduate?
