I had an appointment for a first time H1 stamping in vancouver yesterday.
I have a PhD in Biology from a US university. I currently work at a renowkned US university as a post doctoral fellow. I was asked to fill out an application giving more details about my educational background and also get a very detailed letter from my employer describing my research and the nature of my work.
I was told that it would take anywhere from 2 -4 weeks for my application to be processed. My passport and 797 were returned to me and they retained only copies.
If anyone has ever been in a similar situation it would be very helpful to receive some input and feedback on my situation
