Hi every one,
I am doing M.S in Biological Sciences on F1 visa. I am a doctor from India. I am going to join residency in US on a H1 visa. I need to go to India before that. I had a couple of questions.
1) What is the risk of stamping the visa in India?
2) Have there been any rejections?
3) Since I am in the Biological Sciences field, there is a colomn in the visa form that asks whether one has any specialized skill in the chemical/ biological/nuclear areas. Do you think that M.S in Biological sciences constitutes a specialized skill? do you think that it significantly increases the risk to go to india to get the vis stamped?

Thanks

my 2 cents

1) Higher risk now..due to the war..but if your docs are ok..no reason to fear rejection.
2) dont know.
3) send a email to the mumbai consulate , they reply back pretty soon..get their website from
www.state.gov

Visa stamped in India?

Hi Abhi

I'd be interested to know your experience with the US consulate, in India or elsewhere. Have you got your visa stamped already?

Thanks

I am going to Mumbai on 12th May. Are you also goingto India to get the visa samped? I got a new I -94 along with the petition approval, what does that mean?

It means that your status will change from F1 to H1 as of the start date mentioned on the approval notice. Note that you cannot re-enter more than 10 days earlier than the start date.
