Hi all,
I came here on a B1 visa. changed to F1 status and went to school. NOw I got a job and got my H1 status approved. I am thinking about getting H1 stamping done. I looked at Juarez, Mexico consulate website and they say:
http://usembassy.state.gov/posts/mx2/wwwhnivh.html
"We will NOT ACCEPT the following TCN cases:
Applicants who entered the US with an unannotated B visa issued in their home country and who changed status to F, J, H1B, etc. "
However they accept :
Those applicants with a B visa issued in their home country that includes an annotation indicating they are entering the US with an intent to change visa status, such as “prospective student.”
So I am thinking I have no chance in Mexico since i did not come to Us as a "prospectiev student"
The candian consulate websites do not say anything about this issue of having come .
If anyone has had any recent experience in Canada or Mexico ,
Can you please share it with me.
Thanks and appreciate it.
MJ
