H1 Stamping after employment gap

My close friend had H1 approved after the few weeks of gap between employment. Initially she completed 4 years with H1.

(a) With new H1 she didn't get I-94 so does she has to travel India immediately to get stamped?

(b) Does she need to take an emergency appointment with VFS?
Can someone direct the procedure for it.

Was your friend on H-1 status? In that case she should leave US at the earliest and get the new visa stamp from a consulate. Not sure about the emergency appointment criteria, but read in this forum that persons working in the US may be eligible.
