H1- Revalidation refused Need help please

Hi,

My H1-B revalidation was refused under 221(g) because the letter from my employer was not on employer's letterhead. I plan to resend it and they say it will take 1-2 weeks to get it stamp. My concern is that my brother's marriage is in feb and I need to travel in mid feb. so was accessing the risk, since I do not live close to any US consulate in India it will be a pain to get it stamped there.

Has anybody recently got is stamped in 1-2 weeks after resubmitting under 221(g)? I apprecite any help and response in this regard.

Also I see I have an option of withdrawing the application and they'll send it in 5 days, is this true?
 
Me too in the same situation and little different than your's..I am getting married on Feb 1st and have no clue how many days they will take to process once we sent the so called Employer's letter and all other required documents back to them again with 221(g) mentioned on the top of envlope.

All I can say is just wait until last week and if you dont hear anything you can always withdraw and call back your passport.

I understand to go in for stamping in India they have a list of unnecessary requirements for example in one of my collegues case they asked for list of cosultants who got stamped from Chennai consulate...I dont understand can anyone expect those questions from Consulate....for me it doenst make sense at all...

well ALL I can say is cross your fingures and trust god..everything will be fine...i was told by someone in the same forum that once you send all the required documents with 221(g) on top of envelope ...then you will receive back your passport stamped with in 1/2 week...

Yes thats true you can always withdraw our passport and takes 5 working days to process our request.

Arvindk and jaxen2 for your help. I just send my papers and keeping my fingers crossed. If I don't hear anything from them till feb 1st I'll withdraw my application.

Good luck Arvindk for your stamping. I think with all the hassels in India now a days to get the stamp its worth taking a chance here.
 
H1 revalidation visa got stamped after resubmiting with 221(g)

Hi,

Finally I received my PP bk frm DC after I sent back with 221(g).
Here is the detail summary:

1.Original Submission of PP receched St.Louis - Aug 15th

2.From St.Louis reached DC on - Sep 28th

3. Got back my PP with 221(G) issue Visa office looking for more in detail from my employer about me on Dec 20th,2003.

4. I sent back to Visa office with all required documents and reache Visa office on Dec 22nd,2003.

5. Stamping on my passport was done on 2nd Jan 2004.

6. Finally completed printing visa on my PP and was shipped on 5th Jan 2004.

7. Today (01/06/2004) I received my PP with stamping on it all set

I hope this infomration will be useful for all them.
