I had a H1 from employer A valid till June 2001. I got an offer from B with new I 797 and I 94 till Aug 2003. After I got this, I had to go to India in Apr 2001. When I came back on my old H1 the I-94 issued was till June 2001 only.
I got my h1 revalidated in Apr 2001 for the period till Aug 2003. But the I-94 is not updated, eventhough I have a new H1visa till Aug 2003. I have a form I-797 with a I-94 attached to it valid till Aug 2003.
Question, how does the I-94 get updated in such cases. do we have to go to India, Canada etc and come back with new I-94?
will there be a problem because the I-94 actuall expired in June 2001.
Please help. I earched this forum and didnt get info about I-94 revalidation/renewal.
