H1-OPT Question

I am a student on OPT. My previous company had filed for my h-1 and when i left agreed to transfer it to my new company. I now find out that this is impossible as i hear if it has been too long since you leave your previous compnay, an H1 cannot be transferred. Is this true?
I want to travel out of the country. I know this is risky but possible on my OPT. But i am now confused as to my current status. Please advise.

Opt

I have a simmilar question..I have a temporal contract until the end of january under my OPT period.....can I go back to my country for christmas?? what is the procedure to come back to US?
I'd appreciate any advice

You can't use your OPT to re-enter the country. If you have a valid I-20 and F-1 Visa, you can attempt to come through - however, I don't think you have any alternatives outside of this....and I don't recommend you leave the country

H1/Opt Question

No the H1 has not been approved. I'd like to cancel it in fact, as there is no way to transfer it either. It has been a while since I was with that company that filed for it.
