H1(old occupation) -> F1 -> H1 (new occupation)

Hi! here's my case,

- Had a H1 from jun 04 - aug '06 for a technical role with employer A

- Went to grad school from aug'06 - aug'08

- Joined employer B in financial services (new occupation) - aug'08 - aug '09 OPT

Question is can i extend my old H1 (with remaining ~3 yrs) and transfer to my current employer B?

does occupation change matter?
