h1 multiple entry - Advice needed ASAP!

H1 (from Previos Employer A) multiple stamped on my passport expires in Nov-2003

My GC is in process through Company B. I have my EAD, travel document. i-140 is approved.
I work for Company B on and off now.

I work full time for new employer (The State of Texas) call it Company C.
My new H1 for Company C is good through 2005.
I am planning to go to Mexico to get my H1 (& my wifes h4) restamped.

If visa restamping gets rejected, can I come back since my multiple H1 samped on the Passport is still good through Nov2003?
If this does not work, can I use my travel document/ead to return?

What are the chances for stamping in Mexico now?

if you haven't used your EAD,that's what it seems,you should be able to leave US and come back with valid H1,that's what my attorney says but INS says if EAD is there then you need AP..since you have AP take it along just in case...I don't know how it works in Mexico now,I went there 3yrs ago
