H1 instead of EAD

guys, maybe is better to apply for H1 instead of EAD?
One time pain and you need not to worry about advance parole,
status etc.
 
I do have an H1, but I have been slightly scared to travel without a stamp in the passport, since I know that any mistake would lead to my I-485 being abandoned.

It should theoretically work...

I still don't think it is better, because you can change employers easier on an EAD, after 180 days of I-485 notice date
