Hi All,

My wife and I had our H1 & H4 visa interview at the U.S. consulate in Mumbai yesterday. The interview was a breeze. The officer asked us very few questions. He asked me the following:
How long have you worked for this company?
Who was your previous employer?
How long have you been married?
He asked my wife the following:
How do you spend your time in the U.S.?
Did you travel with your husband the last time he went to the U.S.?

We were in and out in five minutes.

Thank you for all your assistance.

Our next step is to go to the U.S. and get our green card stamping done. We have filed our application in california, but we intend to get our stamping done in Boston. We are hoping it won't be a problem. If any of you have any experiences in this matter, please share it with us.

Congratulations Sunil,
We have a thread already on this forum to keep track of the consulate experiences for Mumbai.
http://www.immigrationportal.com/showthread.php?t=139435
I kindly urge you to use it so we don't have to check 2 threads.

Could you tell me what sorts of documents did u have to carry for interview, apart from what you submitted earlier?
Did they ask for any specific document?

Your details reply would very helpful to lot of us who are planning to be in Mumbai for stamping.

Thanks

This was not my first stamping experience. I have had my passport stamped for H1b twice previously, however that was through drop box.

The documents I carried were only those listed on the requirements form. They included my H1b approval notice (including previous H1 approval notices), Form I129, letter from my employer to USCIS, my degree, certificates, marriage certificate for my wife's H4, wedding photos.

The officer only asked for my I797 and marriage certificate. However it is advisable to carry all the required documents to avoid delays.

Hope this helps!

sunil, had u also attested your name on your wife's passport?
by the way how long did it take for you to get a marriage certificate?

Hi Sunil

how did you get the interviews for both of you together for H1 and H4. My husband has been refused H4 , maybe that is what I need to get. is this the passport add feature that you used on the ttsvisas.com.

would appreciate if you can shed some light on this.

Thanks
