H1 -> F1 ... but this pesky I-140....

Hi,
Have you heard about any succesful cases of H1 -> F1 transfer if during
the previous H1 I-140 was approved?
Also, once you get your approval notice, are you immediatelly
in the F1 status or you can contunue working on H1 till the day the
school starts?

F1 would be effective the date of notice from INS it would not be linked to the school semester start dates which vary a lot from school to school.
