H1 Extention Approval notice I94 validity after travel and new stamp on passport

Hi,
I have a question about I94 validity. I received new I94 with H1 extension approval notice. Which has validity starting in future 1/16/2022-1/15/2025.
I had to travel to India after after extension was approved and status update on USCIS website. I traveled back to USA before i could receive original I797 approval.
Now my passport got stamp for admit until 1/15/2022.
Now my question is does new I94 takes effect which came with I797 approval notice or else passport stamp takes effect.

Time lines are:
H1b extension approved: 1/15/2021
Travel to india:19th Nov
Back to USA:10th Dec
Passport admit until:1/15/2022
Approval notice received: 13 Dec 2021
I-797 I94 validity: 1/16/2022-1/15/2025
 
How is it possible that your H-1B extension was approved in January 2021, but you received the approval notice in December?

Is it perhaps a typo?

I don't think that's what they meant. Earlier in the post, the validity period for the extension was mentioned: Jan 16 2022 to Jan 15 2025.

The timeline makes more sense if the date on which the extension was approved was 11/15/2021 instead of 1/15/2021.

yes you are correct.approval was 11/15/2021
 
This page says that USCIS policy regarding your situation is unclear.

If your visa is still valid, it would be a good idea to leave the US and re-enter using the new petition.
