H1 Extension beyond 6th yr

Hi

I recently completed my 6th year on H1 and filed for 1 yr extension with the approved labor as my I-140 is still pending and yet to be approved. Here is my question.

- I learnt from others that some applications,who are in similar situation, managed to get 3 yrs extension on their H1.

Can you pl throw some lights on this scenario of 3 yrs extension offered when I-140 is pending and not yet approved.

Hi Bapu,
To clarify,
You can get a 3-yr extension on the H-1 if you have an approved 140 and a pending 485.
If you have a pending 140 then you only get 1yr extensions.
Back in the day when you could file 140 and 485 simultaneously, you could get a 3yr extension as there was a pending 485 (Usually they looked at the 140 and if it was pending for more than 180 days and you had a concurrent 485 you got the 3yr extension)
