H1-Extension application sent to wrong service center

Hi

My current H1 expires on April 19 2002. I have an adjustment of status application pending, so my lawyer filed an H1-extension application for a 1 year extension. However by oversight they sent it to TSC instead of VSC (where it should have gone since I work in Baltimore.)

The lawyer says I should be ok because TSC will either decide to process it or forward it to VSC. In either case I should get a receipt from them stating that my application was received before April 19th, so I should be ok

Any opinions or anyone else with a similar experience?

they send....

If the Texas service center does not wish to process, they will send the package back to the petitioner with a blue colored letter stating that the package should be sent to VT service center. However, this does take time. If they do so, you need to keep a copy of the blue letter that proves that the case was file within proper timeframe but somehow was sent to a wrong service center.
