H1 Extension and H1 Transfer simultaneously.

Hello,

My name is Suryanarayana Murthy Devarakonda. Here is my strange situation. I request your expert advice. My H1B visa and petition both expired on April 30th, 2006. I have applied for an H1 Extension(this is second term extension) through my current company. I believe that I have 2 years left on my H1B. We have filed the application on April 28th, 2006(This is actual receipt date). INS sent a query requesting more information on July 27th, 2006. Since we have not received the notice yet, we do not know what is the query. Meanwhile I got an offer from another company and I have initiated H1 Transfer to the other company. The application is filed in INS on July 19th, 2006. Based on the above situation, do I face any problem? Since my last day with my current company is 08/08/2006, I am sure that my current company will not cancel my H1B until 08/08/2006. Do I need to take any specific precautions?

Hi,

I have a question. Can any one apply for H1 transfer while H1 extension is in progress ? (Especially when old H1 visa/I94 expired). I am primarily interested whether can some one change the job while H1 extension is going on with the current employer. I would really appreciate your reply.
