HI guys,

Q1: need some help with this question... The approval date on my H1b petition is july 1, 2004 but i started my job on sep 1, 2004.. My job contract is for 3yrs. Question is ... what can i do from july 1, 2007 till sep 1, 2007? Can i ask USCIS to extend the H1b as i will have a valid contract on july 1st or will they need another one year contract from my employer?

Q2 : My H1b is not stamped on the passport.. My fiance is in Pakistan, If we get married 'over the phone' what chances does she have of getting a H4 as we wouldn't have any marriage pics together since i wont be able to leave the US?

any help would be appreciated. Thanks

i had a similar situation ( well not with regard to marriage!) when my current H1 expired before completing three years of waiver, so i had to file for another H1.

hmm. so that means that there is no other option like 'extending' my present H1b.. since the contract will be valid for another 2 months... like sometimes you may get J1 extended for boards etc... a little more help guys.

i was in the same boat you can extend your h1 b without a problem since you did not start work till july ,just make sure it is done properly with the proper docs ,lca etc.the problem might be if the lca shows u shld be paid more, then u have to talk to ur employer, there are options.
