I am planning to travel to Delhi and get my H1 B stamped (extension for the next 3 years). I have all the documents.

Can someone please tell me if I need to make the drop box appointment via the web and then drop the application at the Delhi TT services office ? And I believe they send it back via courier ? Is this true ?

Please advise. Anyone with recent experiences ?

Thanks

My wife got her H1-B Stamped in Delhi yesterday. All H1-B HAVE TO go through DROP Box. You can make an appointment or you can
go directly to Jhandenwala ext for tts servcies and have to drop the docs there. Make sure you have all the docs mentioned in
the counselor section website of New Delhi embassy other wise it will be a problem.
She droped the docs on friday , feb 8th got the passport back with Visa stamped on Tuesday within Delhi. It was smooth.

No Title

Thanks random140. It isn\'t a problem if your visa expired but your I-797 approval is still valid, right ? My H1B stamp on the passport expired on Jan 1, 2002 but my approval is valid till Sept 2002.

Thanks again.

H1 B Stamp Expiration But I-797/I-94 Valid ?

Hi,

I am thinking of getting my H1B stamp in New Delhi. My older H1B with a previous employer expired in January 2002. My I-797 and I-94 however are both valid till September 2002 and I have all the documents from my employer on my job etc.

Is that an issue when renewing a visa or do they only look at the validity of the I-797/I-94 etc. ?

Thanks.

Valid I-797

Valid I-797 IS ENOUGH. At airport here you may have to surrender the latest I-94, keep copies of it and attach it with the Docs.
My wife\'s previous visas also expired in Nov 2001, but she had a valid I-797 and I-94. At airport here they will check the
I-94 extension, surrender that so that it goes into the system and when you come back you do not have a problem getting in,
as you left on valid I-94.
Take all your old I-797s with you and put copies of that in the docs. Also, at Drop Box they will accept only photocopies.
The original docs they take is I-797 and letter from employer or your offer letter.
Original I-797 and Passport will only be returned, rest all the original docs will not be returned.
