Hello,
My employer in US got H1B approval with notification consulate as Mumbai, I am residing in Bangalore because of my job since Aug 2005, so i took appointment with chennai consulate in September 2005.
I queried chennai consulate if i can attend interview and they said its okay with them.
But my employer in US says me to go to mumbai consulate as the approval letter has got mumbai consulate. Now if i go to mumbai is there any chance that mumbai consulate would say you need to go to chennai consulate as you are residing in Bangalore.
As per the vfs-usa.co.in it is stated that
If you are resident in India, you are required to appear for an interview at the visa section having jurisdiction over the territory where you have been resident during the past six months
Is there any chance of chennai consulate rejecting the h1 on the basis that the approval letter has mumbai consulate.
I am not aware of the procedure of these consulates, Please provide me with best suggestion what can be done.
