H1 cap

Hi,
I'm currently in a H4 visa.If I apply for H1,will it come under the H1 cap or since I'm already in the US and hold H4 visa,it is not counted under h1 cap?

If you are a first time H-1 filer then it will come under the cap. It doesnot matter whether you are in H-4 visa (as it is not cap subjected).
 
Can I apply for H1B thru a company and search for a job after getting the H1B? Is it possible to do so? Is there any time limit withing which I have to find a job once my H1B is issued?

I think you did not understand my answer. You can not apply as the H-1b cap for the current fiscal year is reached. You can apply for the next year quota which starts OCT 1st, 2005. But they are not accepting the applications for next year quota. I think they will start accepting applications from APR, 2005 with a start date on or after OCT 1st, 2005.
