H1 B1/B2 Dilemma

Hi, I am currently employed by a company in India. I recently got my H1 visa for the same company in the US. I then travelled to the US in May 2005 for 2 weeks and had to return to India. I then got married and moved to UK and have been living here since.
I am still employed by the same company and am on a 6 month sabatical. My H1 visa is valid till Sept 2007. I would like to visit the US while I am in the UK. Can I visit the US as a tourist from the UK on the existing H1 or do I need to apply for a tourist visa? :confused:

Yes, u would need to apply for vistor's visa.
 
Thanks. One more question... If a company X in the US gives me an invite to work on a project and I don't have a letter from my current employer, would it still be possible for me to go and work there? (I'd still be working for my company, but just onsite)
