I am 7 days away from ending my 6th yr H1B. I have already gained extension for 3 more years based on approved 140 and 485 filed back in 2007. I have not left the country since the initial 3 yrs of my H1 so did not get a visa renewed 2nd time around. Planning to go to Mumbai in Feb and also get visa renewed. My lawyer is asking for $1000 to help with paperwork. If I recall the paperwork needed is fairly straight forward and can be done on own. I am not a consultant my employer is the same that initially sponsored my H1 from day 1 etc. Do you suggest I pursue this on my own or pay the dollars to my attorney?
