I work for company X and am currently on H1B. I have a job offer from company Y.
1. How long does it take to get a new H1?
2. There is a portability clause that allows me to start working at Y before a new H1 is approved. Could some explain in detail how this works?
3. At what stage of the H1 process can I start working at the new place and how long does it take?
4. Are there any risks involved (in case the new H1 is denied)?
5. Is there a fast track process one can go through and what does it involve?
6. Does anyone have a first hand experience going through this?
