My friend is in this situation:
My friend has a PhD and is currently holding a lecturers position at a college. His college has sponsered his H1-B.
His position is being terminated in two months and he would like to move from the academic field into the industrial field.
Will he have to file for a new H1-B, because the two positions are so different?
Or would he be able to apply for an H1 transfer?
