H1-B Transfer, Can I travel ?

Hi
I have a H1B visa. Recently, I joined a new company and they have applied for my H1-B transfer and my transfer is in process. I have a situation and I need to go to India, for 2 weeks. I contacted my company and asked if I can travel on my previous Visa and come back. They said..it shouldnt be a problem, since they dont expect visa to get approved before I come back.
Is that ok? Can I travel and come back on the previous company H1-B visa...?
Please, help me on this situation.

I am in a similar boat. I was told that working is fine as soon as you file the case. But once you leave country while the transfer application is still pending with INS, you have to wait outside the country until the H1b transfer is approved. May be someone here can guide us both in avoiding this situation of being stuck in India for a long time.

I am in a similar situation but my new visa has arrived. I didnt get it stamped yet. The one with my old company has not expired yet.

Can I travel to India with it ?

Please let me know if you find more.
