Hello,
I am currently on H1B status (due to extending it within the US) and want to travel out of the country once my AP arrives (it was approved this week apparently).
I dont have any plan of getting my H1 restamped in a foreign country, esp Pakistan (which is where I want to go) which is why havent travelled so far obviously. If I travel on AP, will i be allowed to re-enter on my H1B status, or would a visa stamp be required for entry? If yes, would I maintain H status after entering or will I have to forsake that and start on EAD?
Although my EAD has arrived a week ago, I want to keep my H1B status for now, in the event of any problem with my Eb1/EB2 self petition application. At least thats what my employer is advising me. (Still have to get to my attorney about this.)

Any advice is appreciated! thanks!

There are no clear cut regulations but if you stick to the same employer and extend your H-1B after returning to the US then you can still maintain the 'H' status.
