H1-b stamping question

I am scheduled to goto Mexico for H-1b stamping and preparing all the required documents.

I want this H-1b visa stamp so that I can goto India on vacation and then come back. So basically, the visa is not required for any business purpose.

I heard that the consulate people ask for a letter where your employer mentions why is H-1 stamp needed. Is it true?? In my case, I dont need the stamp for business purpose, so what should I do.
