Hello. Here is my situation:
i am on H1B status since October 2009. i was going to go to Venezuela (home country) for visa stamping on december 2009 but two weeks before I got pulled over and got a ticket for suspected DUI.
I went to court on February 5th 2010 and got charged with a DWAI. All I have to do now is 12 alchool classes and 24 hours of community service. I am also under 1 year probation.
I had plans, reservatiosn and tickets to go to the World Cup in South Africa from June 25th to July 12th. I am now done with the community service and will be done with the alcohol classes on may 26th.
I have talked to the probation officer who said will for sure give me permission to travel after I am done with the alcohol classes and community services. Also this will allow me to get out of probation after 6 months in August 5th.
if i go to south africa and then to Venezuela to do the visa stamping. will it be denied for any reason? or I will just have to go to the embassy, show all my paperwork of completion of classes, permission to travel from the probation officer, etc, then go to the physical panel and that will be it (besides the normal procedure)??
Will I need to do the finger printing backgroud check?
Will it affect me to be still on probation eventhouhg I will have permission to travel from the probation officer??
Please let me konw what you think so I can plan ahead.
