Hi,


My wife's H1-B will expire in FEB next year. Is it still true that as long as she file the renewal she can stay in job.
1. Does this mean after filing for the LCA or H1-B?
2. How long to get LCA approved in Chicago?
3. What credentials needed for filing LCA?
4. I want to do it myself. Is it too complicated?

1. After filing with INS, not for LCA. But you can send renewal kit to INS with a letter showing that you applied for LCA and waiting on it. Once you get LCA approved you can submit to INS
2. Depends, usaully it should not take more than two weeks, but keep in mind it is holiday season, it is unpredictable.
3. It is standard procedure, mostly LCA needs information from Employer, I believe.
4. Unless you have complete knowledge about the process, it is not good idea to represent your self. Especially if you get any queries or some thing similar, you should know how to handle. It is upto you.
