H1-B re-validation in a US consulate in Canada

I heard information that H1-B visas can no longer be re-validated in US consulates in Canada if the original H1-B was not stamped in a consulate in Canada. Is it true ?

My original H1-B was stamped in Poland and my H1-B will be expiring in August 2003. I am transferring my H1-B to another company and doing an extension in the same time. I am now waiting for approval.

I am planning to get the new visa stamped in Vancouver or Toronto around August/September. This will be after my current H1-B is expired.

Please let me know if this could be done.

I don't have any information about your question, but if I were you I would go to Canada before the present H1B expires, just to be sure you can get back, in case they don't release you another stamp.
Good luck.
