H1-B Quota

I have heard that this year's H1-B quota has run out. Does this mean that any new H1-B application has to wait until October? Is there any exception?

Does anybody have an idea of what next year's quota would look like?

Yes you are correct. But the earliest date a petitioner may file a petition requesting FY 2005 H-1B employment with an employment start date of October 1, 2004, would be April 1, 2004
