I finished my Optional Practical Training then studying my 2nd master degree now.
The employer(during my OPT) is also applying H1-b for me, do I still need continue my studying?
For my understanding and previous experience, I can just wait as soon as the emplyer got the receipt from INS, is this still on? any change after 911?
Any information are highly appreciate!

You need to wait for your H-1B to be approved and an I-94 issued indicating H-1B status before you can begin working for the employer (assuming that the PT has expired). Assuming that the H-1 was applied as a Change Of Status, you can remain in the US while it is pending but again, you may not work.

Hi Jim,

Thanks for the reply, I am not planning to work during the pending period, just don't wanna go to school to keep my F1, since I need to pay the tuition.

So can I quit school as soon as the employer get the receipt number from INS?
