H1-B Query

Hi,

I am an M.S. Graduate in Industrial Engineering. I am currently on O.P.T. which ends in Aug 2005. Currently I am with a software consultancy which will file for my H1-B on April 1, 2005 as a software consultant. Alongside, I am expecting a full-time opportunity and the company is ready to sponsor for my H1-B as an Industrial Engineer. My concerns are:-
1. Is it ok if two companies apply for my H1-B?
2. Would there be any problem/issue at USCIS if one company filed for my H1-B as a software consultant and the other one filed for my H1 as an Industrial Engineer?

Thank you,
Best regards.

it is ok for two companies to file for H1B but the last one that is approved is technically the valid one and for ethical reasons you are supposed to inform USCIS about the one that you wont be working for bcos you obviously wont be working for both the companies. There might be an issue if one is being applied for software and the other for mechanical especially if they both are being applied at the same service center.
