H1-B in the new interview format

I got my H1-B visa in Chennai under the new interview format. The procedure is very similar to the dropbox format except that after collecting gthe support docs, you appear in front of a (for me) a rather courteous Visa officer.
All she did was look at the I-797, the paystubs, and the employer letter. She asked about the company I worked for, their HQ, local office, etc.
Just to make sure I was actually located where I was, she proceeded to ask me about the state of the local affairs (housing prices, the weather, etc).
If there is any advice I can give, it would be to get your docs in order, appear calm and collected during the interview itself. I saw a few very agitated interviewees - no matter how much they argued their tone wasnt makinga great impression on the visa officers. A couple of them managed to get the visa, but one of them didnt.
Dont bullshit them about serving the American people, contributing to economy etc. The best answer I believe is "to further professional prospects" (though as a caveat I should mention that I wasnt asked that).Anyone wanting to contact me may want to do s at mclarenmerc@yahoo.com as I will be away for a few days and wont be accessing this site.

All the bets to all.

Thanx for the information .... this is the first post i guess about the interview process at the chennai consulate..
