Hi,

My H1 & I-94 with Company A expire Aug 31st, 2003. Company B has filed for an H-1 transfer.

1. While the petition is pending, can I travel outside the country? Will they issue me a new I-94 on my return? Do I need a new I-94 if I dont leave US?

I have a registered company in India and plan to develop that.
2. Can I work for/start a company in India simultaneously while on H-1 here in US?

It is not a good idea to travel while your h1 transfer is pending. If the H1 gets approved before you return, you will need to have that approval notice to get the correct I-94 date or else you will get I-94 upto Aug 2003. Remember that the latest issued I-94 prevails.
You will automatically get a new I-94 as a part of your new H1 approval (the bottom portion is the I-94)

Thanks.

1. What will my status be if the petition is denied?
Do I have to leave immediately?

2. If they request more documentation - (probably around Dec)
paystubs (which I dont have right now as I'm laid off), what options do I have?

Thanks for your help.
