H1 B Extnsion on short term validity passport

Hi,

I got my visa extended till 2012 prior the renewal of my passport. My passport validity was till April 2010 and was planing to visit Inida prior to that. So i applied for renewal of my passport in US-New york embassy. I got the passport extended for 1 year only till August 2010. they mentioned i could reapply after 45 days and get it extended till 10 years.

Will this make any difference or create any issues when i go for visa stamping in Mumbai consulate as now i have two passport one old with which i applied for extension of my visa and second with one year validity.

Kindly help if anyone has gone through this issue or are aware of any consequences.

You can use your old passport for your visa and your new passport as your passport. This is perfectly fine with the USCIS
