H1-B Extension and Renewal at Chennai

Hi Guys,
My H1B expires on 15th Apr 2002. I\'ve my H1 extended till Apr 2004. Now I\'m going to Madras for stamping in June 2002. I heard that now a days they are not stamping if one don\'t have computer science degree (BE CS, MCA etc..)
Is thiscorrect? I\'ve math background.

I heard it from my friend\'s friend who had been to madras and denied H1b visa.He was laid off and went back home. He was trying to get stamped on a new H1B from a different company. The reason he told is \'he has no CS back ground\'. I \'m not sure if this applies to H1 renewal and stamping as opposed to new H1 stamping.
