H1-B & AOS pending and traveling

Hi,

Has anyone done it?
I know that as long as I don't switch jobs and cancel my H1-B I could travel freely even with my AOS pending.
Obviously the I-94 will be a different one at time of interview and the officer shouldn't have any problem with that.

My wife is taking me to the Caribbean for my 30th ( :( ) birthday at the end of August. Should I bring the I-485 receipt with me or is it useless?

Its been a while since I did 485. But dont you need Advanced Parole to travel outside of the US?

I was in a similar situation and I travelled with my H1-B. If you have a valid mutiple entry H1-B, you can travel with it even though your AOS is pending. This is of course if you are still employed using your H1-B. If you have an EAD card and have given that as employment permit to your employer, your H1-B is automatically cancelled and you cannot use it anymore. Otherwise, you're fine. The IO officer at the port of entry wont care about your I-485 receipt.
