I have a general question and am seeking advice.
I am currently on an H1-B with a medium-sized employer and they have filed for Chapter 11. The court has approved the auction, and a sale of the company may be imminent.
My question: if the new owner continues to employ me at the same wage, location, job description, etc. but the company has a new name, what, if any, implications does that have for my H1-B status and is there anything I should be doing in the interim before the new owner takes over?
Also, I recently married and am about 1 week away from filing for AOS to get my EAD/GC, which I anticipate in the coming months.
Thanks in advance.
