H1 B 8th year, what if I485/I140 gets denied?

I am on 8th year H1B extension valid until May 2005. Can I stay in US until May2005 if my I-485/I-140 gets denied?

I think you might be getting a grace period of 60 days if they get denied. check with attorney though!

yes. u can work as long as H1 is valid. you can not extend it any more.

depends on what the reason for the denial is. If it was false representation, criminal record etc. the H1 will also be revoked (my attorney kindly told me the same). More than likely you are just preparing for the worst - if so, in the unlikely event that there is a problem with I-485, H1 would still be very valid.
