H1 approval

i recently got my H1 approval through one of the reputed lawyers , when i got the paper for H1 ,it does not have my I 94 number written on it even though my wife H4 has her I94 . So i asked my lawyer to get it corrected only to get a reply that i can myself call INS to see if they will correct it for me
I have to questions
1.how important is the error , as i have to go out of country to get the passport stamped, can it cause problem
2. if i have paid the lawyer for H1 filing should it not be his job to get it rectified

Hi Lalala
I think your lawyer didnot file for extension of your H status(which basically is new I-94 attached with new H approval with a new date written on it) when does your old 94 expires? Iw ould call the lawyer to correct the mistake or call INS(UCIS) and aks them about the option to avoid getting into trouble.
